Our history
Our company has experienced a turbulent history related to the political transformation of the entire Polish economy in the second half of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century. There is no overstatement in claiming that its current existence is due to the persistence and determination of people from its current management as well as the commitment and experience of the crew.
The roots of the plant date back to the nineteenth century, when in 1891 in Duszniki, a German entrepreneur founded the Home Hand Weaving Industry Organization, and then a large mechanical weaving mill based on it. The weaving mill underwent many perturbations in connection with the First and Second World War, and finally in 1945 it was liquidated and transformed. This is when the true story of ZEM begins.
The Polish economy has experienced many changes towards the 21st century. The company has changed the same way, undergoing numerous conversions as well as changing and adapting its production profile to current market trends. Thanks to this, the current company has gained experience and continues many years of tradition in the production of DC motors for a variety of applications, acquired over several decades of activity, in various organizational and legal forms:

from 1957 to 1995
State-owned enterprise: Zakłady Elektrotechniki Motoryzniczej in Duszniki-Zdrój, subordinate to the Automotive Industry Union in Warsaw
from 1995 to 1997
As a joint-stock company: POL-MOT ZEM S.A. owned by POL-MOT Holding in Warsaw
from 1997 to 2001
Joint-stock company: VISTEON ZEM S.A. belonging to the Ford Motor Co. Group
